Kerry Querns

Langley Community Chorus

Kerry Querns earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of British Columbia in 1976 and received her Master of Educational Practice from Simon Fraser University in 2008.

Kerry is a recently retired Langley Music Teacher and was a District Curriculum Consultant in the Langley School District. She has conducted choirs and taught instrumental and vocal music to students in Kindergarten through adult. She served in the Langley School District as an Elementary and Secondary Music Instructor teaching both choral and instrumental music and as a tacher of Elementary and Secondary English, Drama, Home Economics, and French.

From 1984 to 2000 she was the Conductor of Langley Children’s Chorus.

In 2010 she was the Conductor and Coordinator of the Choir performing at the Paralympic Opening Ceremonies in Vancouver.

Kerry is a Choral and Instrumental Festival Adjudicator and Clinician and a Committee Member, Vice Chair and part of the Executive Organizing Committee for Musicfest Canada. She has adjudicated and been a workshop presenter in several provinces in Canada and in the United States. She is also a Story author and Composer of songs and chants for various English Programs and publishers in Korea.

She has also been a private instructor of instrumental and vocal music and has served as Music Director for four Broadway musicals and was the rehearsal Pianist for three Broadway musicals. In 2000 she was the Accompanist for Provincial Honour Concert Choir.

Kerry is thrilled to be involved with the Langley Community Chorus and is convinced that the world would be a better place if everyone sang in a choir.
