Who we are:
We are a large S.A.T.B. choral group, made up of men and women of various ages, backgrounds and cultures. Our home base is Langley, British Columbia, but our members
come from all over the greater Vancouver area and Fraser Valley. We all have a love of music and a desire to improve our voices and our musical skills.

|
What we sing:
We try to balance the musical selections to appeal to a variety of music-lovers. The Chorus sings many musical styles, including classical, pop, jazz, folk, comedy and
traditional. Visit our music pages to see the wide variety of songs that we sing. Click on the Music History link in the left-frame.To hear samples of our songs from past Concerts click on the "Hear Us Sing" link in the left frame. |

Concerts in the past and future:
Some previous concerts of note are "The Beatles and Beyond", pop tunes of the 50s, 60s and 70s; "The Golden Age of Broadway"; "A Sentimental Journey", swing tunes of
the 20s, 30s and 40s; and "O Canada", a tribute to Canada's musical past.We also took part in the 2007 Leavenworth (WA) Music Festival and the Festival of voices in Mission BC. In October 2008 LCC hosted and performed with the SILVER RING CHOIR from Bath, England. Proceeds from this event will support a school in Kenya. |

When we sing:
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 pm at the Langley Community Music School, 4899 207th Street, Langley, BC.We have just as much pleasure in the preparation of the music as in the performances themselves. We perform 4 or 5 concerts during each of the Spring and Fall choral sessions. These take place in seniors' homes, hospitals, local community functions, and similar venues. We also host 2 large public concerts (for which we sell tickets); one just before Christmas and the other, the Spring Concert, in early May. |
|
How we do it:
In addition to a grant from the Municipality (Township) of Langley, our chorus membership fees, the main Spring and Christmas concerts and a few paid-for performances provide our operating money. These funds are used for additional music purchases, rehearsal hall
rental and other expenses for the following season. The Langley Community Chorus is a government registered Charitable Society and donations are gratefully accepted. A tax receipt will be issued for any amounts exceeding $25.00. Please email us for more information.
|
How to join:
We welcome new members and offer them the opportunity to join us in making wonderful music in a safe, joyful and positive spirit. If you reside in Lower Fraser Valley
or Metro Vancouver and are interested in singing with us, then please email us to inquire (email link below). Someone will contact you by return email or telephone.
PLEASE NOTE: We are always looking for new members, especially men. Depending on the turnover each season, we may or may not have spaces available in the alto and soprano sections. Please email us to find out what openings are currently available.
