• PRESIDENT

    MAURICE RICHARDSON - may chair all meetings of the Society and may vote at all General Meetings. At other meetings the President will not vote except in the case of a tie, he will cast the deciding vote. The President, in consultation with the entire executive, shall enforce the Constitution and By-Laws. The President may be one of the financial signing officers and shall ensure that a Music Director, Accompanist and Executive Officers are secured for each year. With the Executive, the President may appoint a nominating committee for office elections. The President, in consultation with the Vice-President or Bookings Officer, Music Director and Accompanist, will set dates for rehearsals, performances, meetings and social events. The President shall negotiate and sign contracts as approved by the Executive, as necessary. The President maintains, on behalf of the Society, a positive image and profile with external communities. He acts as communications liaison (written, verbal or electronic) between the Executive and Music Director, Accompanist and Singing Members.

  • PAST PRESIDENT

    - provides continuity with the Executive as a consultant and may attend board meetings in an ex officio, non-voting capacity. The Past President shall serve as an advisor to the President and Executive of the Society. The immediate/outgoing President, or Acting President, of the Society may be appointed by the Executive to the position of Past President for a term of one year. If the Past President is unable or unwilling to serve, the Executive may appoint a Past President from among the former Presidents of the Society.

  • VICE PRESIDENT

    DOUG CHAFFEE - shall assist the President and act as President/Chair in the absence or incapacity of the President with the same restrictions in voting. The Vice President may act as the Bookings Officer for the Executive and, in liaison with the Music Director and Treasurer, make contact and confirm dates and details for rehearsal and performance venues. The Vice President may also assist in Treasurer’s duties (such as applications for grants and raffle sales) and may be one of the financial signing officers, familiar with the Society’s financial status.

  • TREASURER

    GAIL RUGINIS - shall give receipts for, disburse and have custody of the funds of the Society with the sanction of the Executive, but may appoint a committee to assist with ticket sales and fund-raising. The Treasurer is one of the financial signing officers. The Treasurer shall deposit such funds in a financial institution chosen by the Executive in the name of the Society and shall account for all money paid and received by the Society, keeping custody of all receipts for a minimum of seven years. The Treasurer shall aim to set aside funds, assigned to "future operating expenses", sufficient for the Society to operate for one season. The Treasurer shall present a financial statement and fiscal projection at each meeting of the Executive and at the Annual General Meeting. The Treasurer shall ensure all financial obligations of the Society are met within reasonable timelines. The Treasurer prepares applications for Government and other grants and submits annual reports to Government and other agencies as required.

  • MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY

    BECCI V. - shall be the contact for newcomers to the Society and will be the manager of the waitlist for prospective members. She/he will ensure that newcomers are informed of the obligations and responsibilities of Singing Members. At the beginning of each season, the Membership Secretary will prepare attendance lists for each Section Helper and may throughout the season, share attendance information with the Music Director and Singing Members. The Membership Secretary will keep an up-to-date record of names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of members in good standing and will make copies available each season to the membership and Music Director.

  • LIBRARIAN

    JACQUIE KLEIN - shall be responsible for the cataloguing, maintenance, storage and return of music. She may assist the Music Director in the ordering, borrowing or lending of music. The Music Librarian may request an assistant to ensure music is loaned only to members in good standing and to manage the deposits for loan of music and folders for each season. The Music Librarian may be one of the financial signing officers.

  • MEDIA LIASON

    RENÉE ROBERGE - shall be responsible to publicize the activities of the Society through press releases. This may include newspapers, TV, electronic media and radio announcements, interviews and printed advertising material. The Media Liaison will collaborate with the President and/or the Music Director when preparing concert articles and photos for various news media.

  • FRONT of HOUSE

    CANDiCE HOPKINS - may be responsible for organizing volunteers for concert duties (ticket sellers, ushers, greeters and signage) at Front of House at public performances. She liaises with the Music Director regarding stage management and oversees concert venue volunteers for riser set-up / takedown and clean up. She may be responsible for ordering the printing of concert tickets, posters, handbills, programs and their distribution.

  • SOCIAL CONVENOR

    MARGARET WILLIAMSON & BRENDA NORICK - may co-ordinate social activities at rehearsals and other social events of the Society and may arrange for gifts or flowers as needed. She/he will submit to the Treasurer an account of income and expenses as required for such activity and will hold the Petty Cash, providing regular accountings of same to the Executive.

  • SECRETARY

    JIM KELLY - shall take and distribute Minutes of proceedings of all meetings. In the absence of the Recording Secretary from a meeting, the Executive must appoint another person to act as Recording Secretary at the meeting. The Recording Secretary will ensure that each season, the schedule given to members will include notice of the date, time and location of all meetings, rehearsals and performances. The Recording Secretary will conduct the Society’s correspondence as directed by the Executive and may share this duty with another Executive member. The Recording Secretary shall forward the approved Minutes to all Executive members and to the Webmaster to add to the Society’s website.
